Absolute Write - www.absolutewrite.com or www.absolutewrite.com/forums

I use this site mostly for its forums.  There is a forum called Bewares, Recommendations & Background Checks which is particularly useful for finding out about agents.  People ask questions and post about the experiences they've had with specific agents.

Jonathan Lyons is an agent.  I've had some experience with him.  He is extremely nice and helpful.  Very professional.  He is no longer posting but if you sift through his archives, this blog has some good tips on it.

Jennifer Jackson's Blog
http://arcaedia.wordpress.com/

I like this because she does a segment called Letters from the Query Wars which is kind of fascinating.

Bookends Blog
 http://bookendslitagency.blogspot.com/

I like this one because they give a lot of tips about writing and querying.  They have a lot of samples of things like good queries.  This is a very informative site.  Scroll all the way down and look on the right-hand side--there's a lot of information about every single aspect of writing/editing/querying/publishing.  It's great.

Publishers Marketplace
www.publishersmarketplace.com

This is a pay site. I pay $20 a month and get daily updates as to recent sales in publishing.  You can search for agents and editors and also find out in general what is going on around the industry.

 1000 Literary Agents
http://www.1000literaryagents.com/

You can use this site to make a list of agents.  You can search agents by genre.  It's free.  I do recommend that you google agents and double check their addresses and peruse their websites if they have one before you query.
